Dutch lightweight conveyor belt maker currently has four production units in US
Heerhugowaard, The Netherlands – Dutch manufacturer of lightweight conveyor belts Ammeraal Beltech is expanding in the US with a new multi-phased greenfield production plant, the company has announced.
The new facility will be built in Buford, Georgia, and will support the projected growth of Ammeraal Beltech in the Americas region, said a 2 April statement.
The “state-of-the-art” facility will produce a full range of synthetic conveyor belts and is set to start production in autumn.
“We are excited to expand our Americas’ infrastructure to provide a new level of service and response to our distributor and OEM customer base”, said Niels van den Boogert, VP and general manager of the Ammeraal Beltech Conveying Solutions business.
The new production unit will bring the total of Ammeraal Beltech’s US facilities to five. The company currently operates manufacturing sites in Skokie Illinois; Reading, Pennsylvania; Jefferson, Pennsylvania; and Grand Prairie, Texas.
“The lightweight belting industry is asking for innovation and faster delivery in a cost-effective manner,” said Tom Doring president of the Americas, at parent company Ammega’s Group.
This investment, he said, “will allow us to take what our industry considers great and make it normal.”
